Cardiopulmonary Services

The cardiopulmonary department is staffed with a Certified and Registered Respiratory Therapist. Daily, the therapist assists in the respiratory management of patients through nebulizer, percussion and oxygen therapy. Additionally, the therapist is an integral part of the cardiac arrest and trauma teams. When required, they assist with ventilation of patients using CPAP, BiPap and mechanical ventilation.  

The department also provides respiratory diagnostic testing including pulmonary functions, arterial blood gas, and oxygen saturation. Cardiac diagnostic testing performed by the department consists of ECG’s and 24-hour holter monitoring. The cardiopulmonary staff brings over 20 years of experience to the hospital with 100% being certified in Advanced Cardiac Life Support.
