JOB TITLE:               Radiology Technologist

REPORTS TO:          Radiology Supervisor

JOB SUMMARY:     The Radiology Technologist will perform diagnostic radiographic procedures on patients, will prepare and maintain necessary reports and records, and will assist in keeping department equipment clean and well maintained.

ESSENTIAL TASKS/DUTIES:

  1. Transports patients to and from the department.
  2. Ensures that the correct procedure is being performed on the patient, and instructs and prepares the patient for the procedure.
  3. Performs department procedures to include, as training allows, those of Radiology, Cat Scan, and Ultrasound.
  4. Develops images and compares images for proper patient identification.
  5. Assesses and interprets data to assist in identifying the needs of patients.
  6. Provides and maintains records of patient visits, procedures performed, and charges for procedures, as well as department records and reports.
  7. Keeps equipment clean and assists with periodic and preventive equipment maintenance.
  8. Works well with Medical Staff and personnel of other departments.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  1. Must have a High School diploma or equivalent, and being a graduate of an accredited program of Radiologic Technology is preferred.
  2. Must have a current ARRT or ARCRT license issued by the State of Texas. Training in Cat Scan and Ultrasound is preferred.
  3. Must demonstrate the ability and willingness to comply with verbal and written instructions.
  4. Must be able to safely lift as much as 50 pounds, and push/pull mobile loads of up to 300 pounds.
  5. At least one year of experience as a registered Technologist in a medical setting is preferred.
