Nurse Practitioner / Physician Assistant

JOB SUMMARY:        The Physician Assistant / Nurse Practitioner position is a Full-Time paid position.  The NP / PA will perform procedures in clinic and hospital settings as appropriate.

PATIENT CARE TASKS/DUTIES: (This list is a succinct summary of core duties only. Other tasks will be assigned)

1. History and Physical examinations
2. Formulation of Diagnosis
3. Ordering appropriate tests
4. Prescription of medication and/or procedures
5. Informing patients of risk and available options and obtaining informed consent
6. Follow-up care as appropriate
7. Maintain appropriate, legible, and timely medical records.

NON-PATIENT CARE DUTIES

1. Participate in activities that ensure quality care, including a peer review process.
2. Participate in Clinic patient schedule.
3. Be available for emergency consultations and services.
4. Additional Duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

1. Be board certified or board eligible in Family Practice
2. Obtain and retain ACLS and PALS certifications.
3. Ability to be credentialed by all insurance programs both public and private.
4. Keep current on Continuing Education Unit (CEU) requirements.
